D. JAMES

Daniel Baron is a R&B artist/producer from Church Hill, Richmond, VA.  He Studied music at Norfolk State University and Berklee College of Music.  Has engineered, written, and produced music for the past 20 years.  He worked for a short period of time as a Studio Engineer at The Brickhouse Recording Studio in Downtown Portsmouth, VA before enlisting in the Army in 2007.

DannyBoy made it through many hardships as a child “I remember having no lights, having to walk around with candles to see at night.  Once we had our gas turned off and my dad rigged up a hot plate and somehow managed to put it under the bathtub to heat the water for baths.” Knowing what it’s like to not have much Danny made sure to do whatever it took to get himself out of the hood.

As a child he would always sing songs that he heard on the radio.  It soon became a hobby to him.  He would sing everything he heard mimicking the melodies and harmonies on a daily basis.  His mom would say “Danny is that you singing? I thought that was the radio”.  Soon he started to sound a lot like the guys on the radio, well pretty close.  He didn’t realize it at first but he had been practicing for quite some time.

In elementary school he would sing songs for the girls along with his friends.  He thought he was famous or something.  He loved the reaction from the young ladies and that was really the beginning of a long road.  Danny has continued to strive for success over the years.  Music continues to be his passion.  It’s his therapy.  It’s how he relieves his pain.  It’s how he makes it through the day.  It’s what he loves.  Passion

His grandmother used to say “Danny. No matter what, no matter what never stop your music”.

He’d respond to her saying “I won’t grandma”.
